Del S. Potter, M.A.A.

Speaker & Teacher

Del is an Apologist and an Evangelist. He ministers through Reason For Truth, serving Kairos Prison Ministries and on on the road evangelism through his travels. Del earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theatre Arts and Marketing from Northwestern College, Orange City IA in 1995. He went onto earn his Masters in Christian Apologetics from Southern Evangelical Seminary in 2017. Del was Junior High Pastor at Ephraim Church of the Bible in Ephraim, UT from 2003-2005 and enjoys reaching youth for Christ every chance he has. Del went on to serve as Youth Pastor, Associate pastor and Community Outreach Pastor at Snug Harbor Community Church from 2005 to 2013. It was at that point that Del moved into prison ministry and then joined ReasonForTruth.Org.

Del is passionate about the church and church-community. He is especially intersted in the Pre-Nicene Christians (A.D. 98-325) because what he learned about Christianity in the early centuries profoundly affected his life. What he discovered about these early Christians is that they were a courageous people who had (by comparison) more confidence and more faith, and yet less scripture was available to them. Del has spent the last 9 years as a Volunteer Outreach Pastor and serving Kairos Prison Ministry International where it has provided him numerous opportunities to apply apologetics and early Christianity in defending the Triune God against the various false religious systems within the prison system. Del fears that today, that christians possess more scripture, study tools, and yet in some cases demonstrate less faith and experience more doubt. His passion is to reach the lost with the love of Christ through solid Biblical seasoning and sound exegetical reasoning. This is his focus at ReasonForTruth.Org. Certificate in Christian Apologetics - Biola University

Certificate in Ministering To The Incarcerated - American Bible Society

Tony has recently joined the team with Reason For Truth as the director of Motivo di Verita which means reason for truth in Italian. His role is to reach the Italian people through Bible studies and podcasts in the Italian language. Tony's family comes from the province of Avellino, Italy in a town called Andretta. From a young age Tony was exposed to the "old school" way of life watching his uncle Michelangelo work on family farm, growing crops, and raising livestock as well as learning from his aunt Angelina how to make brick-oven pizzas in the backyard. (Naples style, none of this deep-dish stuff). This instilled in him a good work ethic and a desire for a simple lifestyle. Tony has a vision to reach the hearts and minds of the Italian people and to watch them grow in Christ. He has held multiple roles as a teacher and speaker with Ratio Christi, a college apologetics ministry and pastors a church in Berkshire County, MA. Tony's passion for Italy can be summed up by a quote from Giuseppe Verdi, "You may have the universe, if I may have Italy."

Growing up in a Christian home and surrounded by like-minded believers, Tony never had to ask why he believed what he believed, he just believed it. That soon changed once he went off to a local community college where he soon began being bombarded with intellectual objections to his faith that he had never heard before. He began his search for answers and came across the word apologetics, which he had heard of but never really looked into. Quickly coming across names like Norman Geisler and William Lane Craig, Tony caught the apologetics bug and as they say, the rest is history. His vision is to see the church grow, not necessarily in number, but more importantly to grow in the character of Christ. He has been equipping the church for the past 8 years through Bible studies, apologetics classes, and atheist skits - taking on the role as an atheist in churches and Christian camps in Western Massachusetts to demonstrate the need for apologetics, and to show that there are really good answers to really good questions. One of his favorite books to teach through is the book of Philippians. Tony is pursuing his ordination and has training in psychology, leadership, theology, church planting, and apologetics. Tony's life goal is best summed up by the apostle Paul's words in Philippians 3:10-11, "My goal is to know him and the power of his resurrection and the fellowship of his sufferings, being conformed to his death, assuming that I will somehow reach the resurrection from among the dead." Some of Tony's lifelong hobbies are martial arts, training in Shaolin Kempo Karate and playing blues guitar.
